Scheduled Task – Standard Cost Inventory Revaluation

This task automates revaluing inventory based on updated standard costs.

This setting controls if a user can access the additional scheduled tasks, which includes the scheduled task for Standard Cost Inventory Revaluation. For more information, see: Plugins Panel

How to Schedule Standard Cost Inventory Revaluation

  1. Go to Records > Scheduled Tasks > Additional Tasks.
  2. Click Standard Cost Inventory Revaluation.
  3. Click Activate.
  4. Check Task Enabled to turn the task on and make the schedule options appear.
  5. Select the Time of Day the task will run:
    • Run once per day at this time – The task will run each day at the specified time.
    • Run every __ minutes – The task will run every X minutes during the time frame entered below.
      • Enter the From and Through times the task will run during.
    • Run every __ seconds – The task will run every X seconds during the time frame entered below.
      • Enter the From and Through times the task will run during.
  6. Select the Dates the task will run:
    • Run every day – The task will run every day.
    • Run on the following weekday(s) – The task will run on the selected weekdays.
    • Run every month on the _____ _____ of the month – The task will run on the selected day of the month.
      • Use the drop-down menus to indicate the day to run the task
        • The exact date will change from month-to-month to maintain the rule entered here.
        • e.g. Run every month on the First Monday of the month.
      • Drop-down 1 – Select First, Second, Third, Fourth, or Last. 
      • Drop-down 2 – Select Any Day, Weekday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
    • Run every month on the following dates of the month – The task will run on the selected dates of the month.
      • The task will run on the selected dates regardless of what weekday they fall on from month-to-month.
      • Use CTRL + Click to select multiple dates.
      • Use SHIFT + Click to select a range of dates.
    • Run every 4-4-5 period on the _____ _____ of the period – The task will run on the selected day of the current period defined in the 4-4-5 configuration. (Added with the FourFourFive plugin)
      • Use the drop-down menus to indicate the day to run the task
        • The exact date will change from period-to-period to maintain the rule entered here.
        • e.g. Run every period on the First Monday of the month.
      • Drop-down 1 – Select First, Second, Third, Fourth, or Last. 
      • Drop-down 2 – Select Any Day, Weekday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
  7. Select the User to Email with Notifications.
    • The selected employee will be notified of any errors when the task runs.
    • The email address is pulled from Records > Employee > Records > Contact Panel: Contact Information: Email.
  8. Enter the number of days to Recompute For.
    • The task will perform revaluation from the date its run back the entered number of days.
  9. Use the product filter to select the products to revalue.
  10. Click Post.

Open the Audit Log

The Audit Log allows users to view any changes that were made to the scheduled task. It also shows the last time the task was run.

  • Click Open Audit Log below the Notifications section.
